Komen Launches New Metastatic Breast Cancer Trial Search Website

As president and CEO, Daniel “Dan” Farber leads Barrington, New Jersey-based Bright Lights in manufacturing and distributing mechanical and electro-mechanical components. Outside of his leadership of Bright Lights, Dan Farber engages in numerous philanthropic pursuits, including support of the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

The Susan G. Komen Foundation recently launched a new web portal that will help people with metastatic breast cancer match themselves with clinical trials in which they may be eligible to participate. The Metastatic Trial Search (MTS) can be found at www.breastcancertrials.org and will serve as a key resource for both men and women who are weighing their treatment choices.

Victoria Wolodzko, Komen’s vice president of research and community health program operations, says that the website will be beneficial to individuals living with metastatic breast cancer as well as help enable continued research into the disease. She also says that efforts like these are part of the organization’s long-term goal to cut the number of breast-cancer related deaths in the United States by 50 percent over the next decade.
