Susan G. Komen South New Jersey Chapter Sponsors Race for the Cure

Since 1990, Daniel “Dan” Farber has worked as chief executive officer and president of Bright Lights USA, Inc., based in Barrington, New Jersey. He founded Bright Lights to manufacture and distribute military spare parts for the defense industry. A philanthropic individual, Dan Farber supports several charitable organizations, including the Susan G. Komen organization.

Established in 1982 by Nancy G. Brinker on behalf of her sister, the Susan G. Komen is the world’s largest nonprofit fighting breast cancer. Since it began, the organization has raised more than $2.6 billion for research, advocacy, programs, and community health outreach assistance in 30 countries.

One of the fundraising events hosted by the nonprofit is its Race for the Cure. On November 6, 2016, the Komen Central and South New Jersey Race for the Cure Six Flags Great Adventure takes place in Jackson. Prior to race day, registration is $40 for adults and $25 for children under the age of 10; prices increase $5 on race day. The 5K race runs through the Six Flags Great Adventure Safari and Theme Park, while the one-mile walk occurs through the Safari.
